Thomson Airways launches direct Phuket flights

Thomson Airways is offering direct and non-stop weekly flights to Thailand from London Gatwick airport. The Thomson 787 Dreamliner carries 291 passengers. Premium Club seats 47 in a 2-3-2 configuration, with a 38” pitch, and Economy Club seats 244 in a 3-3-3 configuration, with an industry leading 33” or 34” pitch.

Mr Siripakorn Cheawsamoot, Director of the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) UK, Ireland and South Africa, said: “2013 has seen several positive developments for Thai tourism, and we are particularly excited about the new, first ever, direct charter service from London Gatwick to Phuket with Thomson.

“The new partnership helps our continuing initiative to target the family market and encourage more young and teenage families to holiday in Thailand. It’s also a great choice for couples looking for a romantic holiday as not only can they enjoy the comforts of the Thomson 787 Dreamliner but they’re now able to land straight in the heart of Phuket and fast track their holiday to Thailand’s idyllic beaches and islands.” Added Cheawsamoot.

Chris Browne, Managing Director of Thomson Airways comments: “We are thrilled to offer an exclusive, direct flight to Phuket on the Thomson 787 Dreamliner and we are confident that our customers will love the destination as much as they do the aircraft.

“The Dreamliner makes it possible to touch down in Phuket without having to refuel or connect along the way, making it faster and more convenient than ever to get to this incredible destination.”
