Sustainable Tourism Foundation Pakistan joins ICTP

The International Coalition of Tourism Partners (ICTP) announced the Sustainable Tourism Foundation Pakistan (SFTP) as its newest member.

ICTP Chairman Juergen T. Steinmetz said: “We are delighted to welcome the Sustainable Tourism Foundation Pakistan to ICTP’s membership. SFTP is a positive addition to our grassroots travel and tourism coalition of global destinations committed to quality services and green growth. Both SFTP and ICTP strive to increase tourism competitiveness through cooperation, networking, and a commitment to green growth.”

SFTP’s mission is to promote and facilitate the growth of sustainable and equitable tourism in Pakistan in close partnership with concerned stakeholders from the public, private, and NGO sectors. In essence, SFTP’s vision is to establish Pakistan as a nature friendly, culture friendly and people friendly tourist destination.

“We are pleased to join ICTP. It is important to have a common understanding of what green growth is and how it ensures sustainable development of tourism so that tourism stakeholders can break through the confusion and make informed decisions,” said Aftab Rana, President of Sustainable Tourism Foundation Pakistan, “As part of this global partnership, we are dedicating ourselves to helping make sure that tourism thrives and visitors can continue to have special experiences for generations to come.”
