Sky Express signs distribution agreement with Travelport

Russia’s first low cost carrier, Sky Express, is pushing ahead with the expansion of its sales channels by signing a new distribution deal with Travelport, one of the world’s leading global distribution system (GDS) providers. As of February 2010 Sky Express flights will be distributed to users of both the Galileo and Worldspan platforms worldwide.

The airline serves both business and leisure destinations connecting Moscow with a wide range of airports across Russia.  Based in the capital’s Vnukovo airport, the closest airport to Moscow City Centre, the airline operates a fleet of modern Boeing 737 aircraft.

Sky Express’ Commercial Director Andrey Egorov explained: “Although Sky Express has enjoyed significant early success since launching operations in 2007, we believe participating in the GDS channel is essential to ensure our future growth.  Travelport’s GDS platforms are very well established throughout the world and growing in Russia.  We are very pleased to be partnering with them.”

Yuri Cheresov, Travelport’s Head of Airline Services for Russia and CIS, added: “The management team at Sky Express has ambitious plans for the future and everyone at Travelport is excited to be involved at such a crucial time. We look forward to working closely with them to achieve these growth plans.”
