Sheraton Richmond West to convert to Ramada Plaza on June 28

The Sheraton Richmond West will fly a new flag on June 28, when it converts to the Ramada Plaza Hotel Richmond West and joins the Ramada hotel brand.

“The franchise agreement with Sheraton will expire in June, which gave us the opportunity to review the market and explore the possibility of flagging with a different brand,” said Bret Ellison, the hotel’s general manager. “After a thorough search, we decided to join Ramada, and the larger Wyndham Hotel Group family, as a Ramada Plaza hotel. With nearly 900 properties around the world, Ramada is robust, well-known brand that resonates well with business and leisure travelers alike. It’s a brand we believe suits this hotel and market well.”

“It is with great pleasure that we welcome this newest addition to the Ramada brand,” said Mark Young, Ramada brand senior vice president. “Richmond is a vibrant and important market and the Ramada Plaza Hotel Richmond West will serve as a great ambassador, providing visitors to the area the opportunity to experience the outstanding quality and service that are the hallmarks of the Ramada brand.”

To celebrate its conversion, the Ramada Plaza Hotel Richmond West will offer double Wyndham Rewards points for all stays from June 28 through year-end 2010. Wyndham Rewards is the world’s largest lodging loyalty program with more than 6,000 participating hotels.

Members of the program earn valuable points redeemable for more than 250 reward options including free hotel nights, airline tickets, and gift cards for leading retailers and restaurants. More information is available at www.wyndhamrewards.com.
