Sale agreed on Von Essen’s Ynyshir Hall

Ynyshir Hall, a Welsh manor house once owned by Queen Victoria and used as a shooting lodge, is the latest von Essen Hotel to be sold by Christie + Co on behalf of the Administrators.

The nine bedroom and three suite hotel in Eglwys Fach, Powys is a Relais & Chateaux member establishment. It has been sold to the hotel’s general manager, and prior owners of Ynyshir Hall, Joan and Rob Reen.

Chris Day, Managing Director of Christie + Co, says: “Ynyshir Hall is one of the most historic properties in the von Essen Hotels portfolio as well as one of the most ideally located. We are delighted to have sold the hotel to someone who understands its history and reputation. We wish the new owner and the hotel every success in the future.

“Ynyshir Hall is the 19th sale from the von Essen Hotel portfolio and we look forward to announcing further sales in the weeks ahead.”

The Von Essen chain includes some of the finest stately homes and castles in the country including Thornbury Castle, Cliveden and Ston Easton Park.
