Matt Moran experiences Victoria ‘T-QUAL Style’

Matt Moran has just returned from an exciting trip to Victoria, where he experienced and promoted an array of quality assured tourism products as part of the T-QUAL Tick Tour.

The renowned chef, father of two and co-owner of a T-QUAL endorsed business is the acting ambassador for T-QUAL Accreditation. As such, the past few months have seen Moran travelling around Australia ‘T-QUAL style’, experiencing quality restaurants, tours, attractions and accommodation endorsed by the T-QUAL Tick - Australia’s national symbol of tourism quality.

“Once again the T-QUAL Tick Tour has really opened my eyes to the high quality tourism experiences on offer in Australia, that are now even easier to find - just look for the T-QUAL Tick,” said Moran.

Whilst in Victoria, Moran had a chance to soak up the cultural city of Melbourne, as well as the beautiful and tranquil Yarra Valley.

“Victoria is known as a cultural hub of Australia, and while I enjoyed the amazing art, history and culture of Melbourne, I also welcomed getting the opportunity to experience the unique beauty of the Yarra Valley.”

The trip began with a CBD Walking Tour through some of Melbourne’s famous laneways and streets which led Moran to a delicious lunch at Ezard, one of Melbourne’s most elegant modern fusion restaurants.

After a sumptuous meal, Moran headed to Domaine Chandon, a vineyard in the Yarra Valley established by French champagne house Moët & Chandon in 1986, where he was treated to a range tasting and a tour of the winery.

This was followed by dinner at Eleonore’s Restaurant at Chateau Yering, a fine dining experience which was awarded One Chef’s Hat in The Age Good Food Guide 2012.

After a full day’s adventure experiencing T-QUAL endorsed products, Moran returned to the comfort and refined surroundings of the Sanctuary Park Cottages, a unique and private accommodation offering set on a 20 acre property in the heart of the Yarra Valley.

Day two began with a trip to the award winning Melbourne Aquarium, one of Victoria’s must-see tourist attractions. This was followed by lunch at Vue De Monde, Shannon Bennett’s established, recently reinvigorated fine dining restaurant in the heart of Melbourne’s iconic Rialto.

No trip to Melbourne would be complete without a visit to the Melbourne Cricket Ground and National Sports Museum. Moran enjoyed a tour of the MCG seating bowl and arena, before taking in the recently
launched Olympic Posters Exhibition in the National Sports Museum.

After all that excitement, Moran enjoyed a well-deserved rest at InterContinental Melbourne The Rialto, one of the city’s leading world-class hotels just steps away from the cosmopolitan Southbank area.

Everyone can join Moran on his journey by following the T-QUAL Tick Tour blog (t-qual.tumblr.com) and by booking any of these T-QUAL endorsed products themselves.
