La Mamounia Spa Marrakech reopens after three year restoration

La Mamounia, Marrakech’s iconic hotel recently reopened its doors following an extensive three year restoration project led by internationally acclaimed interior designer, Jacques Garcia. Completely reconstructed during the recent refurbishment of the iconic Mamounia hotel, the Mamounia Spa with cavernous treatments rooms and selection of hammams is unrivalled.

Inspired by Moroccan and Eastern cultures, the La Mamounia Spa invites guests to journey into a world of wellbeing. This was the vision of internationally renowned designer, Jacques Garcia, who with a subtle blend of tradition and modernity has created this magical space.

Jacques Garcia chose to work with local artisans using traditional materials such as tile work, marble, tadellakt plaster and wood craft, paying homage to the Moroccan craftsmanship and traditions, resulting in a truly authentic and magical environment. Due to it generous size (2500m²) the spa offers many private spaces for those who prefer a more intimate experience.

The local, highly trained staff uses the hotel’s signature products which are based on ancient recipes and exclusively produced for La Mamounia. These include black soap, ghassoul, argan oil, rose water and scented orange water, all of which can be purchased in the hotel’s boutique.
A careful selection of both product lines and specialists guarantees a perfect match for any skin or hair type, whilst creating a luxurious, relaxing and pampering environment, regenerating both mind and body. Together with Olivia Giacobetti, who is one of the seven greatest noses in the world, La Mamounia has created a signature scent, which can be found in all amenities.

More than 80 treatments are offered ranging from traditional Moroccan hammam treatments with MarocMaroc to a comprehensive range of face and body therapies with Shiseido as well as manicures and pedicures by La Ric. The hair salon, under the expert guidance of Jean Michel Faretra offers a fresh, modern approach for both men and women.
In addition, there are two fully equipped fitness studios, housed in the Pavilion overlooking the beautiful Mamounia Gardens as well as two ozone treated swimming pools and two clay tennis courts.
