Jamaica to hosts gastronomy seminar Jamaica minister of tourism Edmund Bartlett will host the event

The Jamaica’s ministry of tourism –backed Tourism Linkages Network is collaborating with the Jamaica Hotel & Tourist Association, the Jamaica Manufacturers’ Association, Seprod, Appliance Traders and other partner entities to host a special gastronomy seminar.

The move is part of the ministry’s continued effort to strengthen linkages and increase business between the tourism industry and local suppliers of goods and services from other sectors.

The event, which will include presentations by chefs and experts on how to use oil to enhance culinary delights in the tourism sector,  has been named; The Gastronomy of Fats and Oils – The Art of Choosing, Preparing and Cooking Good Food.

The event, which will attract tourism partners, forms part of efforts to grow the industry through the establishment of five new networks namely: gastronomy, health and wellness, knowledge, shopping, and sport and entertainment.

Each network is driving the development of these sub-sectors to further diversify our tourism offerings, create business opportunities and increase the use of local goods and services within the tourism sector.

The event will take place at The Hilton Rose Hall Resort & Spa in Montego Bay on October 12th.
