Intercontinentals flagship Thailand Resort appoints Britta Kutz as GM

InterContinental Hua Hin Resort, the royal resort’s town’s pre-eminent luxury haven, is delighted to announce the appointment of Britta Kutz to the role of General Manager.  Ms Kutz has enjoyed a swift rise through the InterContinental ranks and joins the Hua Hin resort from her most recent role as Deputy General Manager of InterContinental Singapore. It was there that her talent for leadership, brand awareness and excellent management was recognised, gaining her a coveted place on InterContinental’s Accelerated General Manager Development Programme.

“It is a real honour to be appointed General Manager at such a celebrated resort,” said Ms Kutz. “The unique heritage of the town – a royal favourite for many years – is complemented by the resort’s refined and elegant style.

“Throughout it has been inspired by the architecture of the legendary King Rama IV’s Summer Palace. I look forward to building on the resort’s already excellent reputation and the special place it has at the heart of Hua Hin.”

German-born, multilingual Ms Kutz has also worked in sister properties in both Cologne and Frankfurt, Germany, where she was Acting General Manager and Director of Front Office respectively.

It was in during her tenure at InterContinental Singapore, however, that Ms Kutz exceeded the InterContinental Hotels Group goal for guest satisfaction in 2011, and helped the hotel achieve the Hospitality Asia Platinum Award in the Signature Business Hotel category.

Her experience at the InterContinental Singapore burnished her track record of savvy and inspiring day-to-day leadership and direction to the hotel team, maximising financial returns, driving development of people and creating and maintaining a unique guest experience - all skills that will prove essential to managing the renowned resort in Hua Hin.

The InterContinental Hua Hin Resort is the jewel in this historic royal town. Showcasing 119 rooms and three beachfront villas with private plunge pools, the resort also offers an unforgettable experience; La Residence, a two-storey, 480sqm 1920s Rama VI period beachfront house with a discreet private entrance and private garden.
