Garuda Indonesia announces leadership changes

Indonesia’s national carrier, Garuda Indonesia, has appointed Sentot Mujiono as vice president, region south-east Asia.

In his new role, Mujiono will be responsible for growing and managing the airline’s operations in Brunei, India, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Thailand and Vietnam.

Garuda Indonesia currently operates more than 100 flights a week from these markets to Indonesia and beyond.

Based in the airline’s office in Singapore, Mujiono assumes this leadership role after having held various positions with the national carrier since 1987.

Mujiono started his career at Garuda Indonesia and over the past 26 years has worked across different departments within the company from reservations and ticketing to sales and marketing.

Prior to taking up this latest role, he spent five years in China as general manager, taking charge of the airline’s operations in the market.

“Asia is a key market in our ‘Quantum Leap’ strategy and Sentot’s extensive experience and knowledge of the industry and our operations will be a great asset as we continue to build on the momentum to improve our regional flight connections.

“With our entry into SkyTeam in 2014, we will be looking into broadening and strengthening our network further, linking Indonesia to major destinations around the world,” said Emirsyah Satar, president, Garuda Indonesia.
