FAA lifts Turkish airline flight restrictions

The Federal Aviation Administration has lifted the restrictions on flight arrivals from Turkey.

Following political unrest in the country on Friday, the FAA had barred all airline carriers, regardless of country of registry, from flying into the United States from Turkey, either directly or via a third country.

Accordingly, all scheduled Turkish Airlines flights to the US will resume, starting Today with Turkish Airlines’ Istanbul–New York departure at 06:45.

Turkish Airlines chairman lker Aycı stated: “Earlier today I stated that we saw no reason for the ban as all precautions were in line with the norms.

“Following our recent report and intense meetings, FAA removed the ban as expected.”

Following the failed coup attempt in Turkey, the FAA issued a bar on flights at noon on July 16th.
