Canadian travel agents have selected Galileo Canada
and its Apollo system as their favourite global distribution system (GDS) in the Canadian Travel Press/Travel Courier “Agents` Choice” survey for 2003.
Now in its fourth year, this survey polled travel agents across Canada asking them to identify their favourite travel industry suppliers, including their favourite GDS.
“Galileo Canada is an excellent strategic partner that helps us to increase transaction efficiency for a total lower cost,” said R. Ravi Kumar, Country General Manager - Canada, Rosenbluth International in Etobicoke, Ontario. “Besides providing best in class technology and service, the Galileo team is making some real inroads in driving value in and costs out, despite all of the changing dynamics—among suppliers and distributors in the industry today.”
“We`re delighted to receive this recognition two years in a row from our highly valued travel agency partners,” said Shannon Hyland, general manager of Canada and Latin America and vice president of Strategy for the Americas. “With initiatives like Business Builders, which we`ve recently launched, and access to specially-negotiated rates, exclusive content and inventory from leading brands such as Starwood Hotels, Galileo agents are beginning to benefit from the entire Cendant asset portfolio.”
This year`s 4th annual Agents` Choice Awards is the largest travel agent survey in Canada, garnering 1,342 ballots. The survey was published in Canadian Travel Press and Travel Courier from February to the end of April 2003, as well as online at www.travelpress.com. The results are completely and entirely reflective of the votes received from travel agent respondents.
