Leisureplanet expands International Network of Travel Partners

Leisureplanet, a leading Internet travel services provider that is majority-owned by Leisureplanet Holdings, Ltd.(Nasdaq: LPHL) today announced the enhancement of its travel network through the appointment of a number of new travel partners in key international markets, building upon its existing content and fulfilment capabilities.

The expansion of the network is a key part of Leisureplanet’s localization strategy, which calls for a roll out of market-specific web sites in 30 international markets throughout 2000. Each partner is a leader in its local markets, and will provide Leisureplanet’s customers with products tailored to their locales, as well as a high level of post-sale customer service.

Leisureplanet’s partners are major national consolidators and will offer:

Negotiated air fares and, in many markets, package holidays;
Local fulfilment of air travel, including ticketing and ticket delivery;
An expertly serviced and professionally supported buying experience; and
Local language telephone customer service.

Pierre Kleinhans, Chief Executive Officer of Leisureplanet, said: “In order to secure Leisureplanet’s position as the dominant international online travel services company it is imperative that we develop an outstanding network of travel partners. While we intend to be global in scope, certain geographic regions are slated for immediate rollout and have therefore received priority. In addition to the US, this includes the major continental European markets, Scandinavia and the UK. Other important locations already covered by our network are Australia and South Africa”.
