Norwegian cruise line selects IPIX

Internet Pictures Corporation (Nasdaq: IPIX), a leader in global visual content and infrastructure for the Internet, announced today that it has partnered with Norwegian Cruise Line Limited to provide visual content solutions for its Web site, www.ncl.com, to promote its newest ship, the Norwegian Sky.
“The Norwegian Sky is our new flagship and we want to give people the opportunity to come onboard and experience all this beautiful vessel has to offer,” says Michael K. Pawlus, Vice President of Strategic Planning for Norwegian Cruise Line. “With the power of the Internet and iPIX visual content, visitors can step into the ship’s staterooms and public areas to experience the Norwegian Sky.”

Using iPIX Visual Content solutions, the Norwegian Cruise Line Web page features iPIX images that allow viewers to Step Inside the Picture?, looking in any direction, from left to right, and floor to ceiling, as if they are actually onboard. The Norwegian Cruise Line virtual tours offer iPIX images of the Norwegian Sky, which let visitors explore the ship’s spacious twelve decks, bars/lounges, and elegant staterooms. The Norwegian Sky made her debut in August, 1999 and will begin her inaugural Alaska season on May 7, 2000, offering weekly departures to the Inside Passage from the port of Seattle.

“Working with a leader like Norwegian demonstrates the wide acceptance of iPIX visual content for ecommerce applications across all categories including automobiles, hotels, real estate, destinations, cities, resorts, stores, and product showcases,” said Internet Pictures Chairman and CEO, Jim Phillips. “iPIX visual content gives the travel industry an easy way to increase bookings through incredible iPIX images that drive ecommerce.”
