Host Marriott Elect Morse to Board

Host Marriott Corporation (NYSE: HMT) today announced that
John B. Morse, Jr. has been elected to its Board of Directors. Mr. Morse will also serve on the Audit
Committee of the Board of Directors.
Mr. Morse has served since 1989 as Vice President, Finance and Chief Financial Officer of The
Washington Post Company. He also serves as President of Washington Post Telecommunications and
Washington Post Productions, Inc., both subsidiaries of the The Washington Post Company. Prior to
joining The Washington Post Company, Mr. Morse was a partner at PricewaterhouseCoopers.
“We are excited that Jay Morse has agreed to join our Board,” said Christopher J. Nassetta,
Host Marriott’s president and chief executive officer. “He brings strong business and financial
experience to our board, and we look forward to his contributions.”
Mr. Morse received his MBA from the University of Pennsylvania Wharton School of Business
and earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Virginia. He serves as Trustee of the
College Foundation of the University of Virginia.
With the election of Mr. Morse, the Company’s Board now has eight members, five of whom
are independent. Under the Company’s bylaws, Mr. Morse will stand for election at the next annual
meeting of stockholders.
