March Highlights at Badrutt`s Palac

A month of delights: Two top-class events planned for March will ensure that St. Moritz is the talk of the town - the famous gourmet festival and the classic “Snow & Symphony” concerts. The world class Badrutt’s Palace, owned by the Badrutt family and managed by the luxury hotel group Rosewood Hotels & Resorts, is right up there at the forefront of it all. Hotel guests can enjoy a perfect skiing holiday with selected extras at very special rates.

2003 marks the 10th anniversary of the staging of the St. Moritz Gourmet Festival, which is being held from 10.-15. March 2003. The event attracts both chefs and gourmets from around the world to St. Moritz. From the 11.-14. March 2003 Badrutt’s Palace`s very own celebrated chef, Franz W. Faeh and the Norwegian gourmet chef Eyvind Hellstrom from the restaurant Bagatelle in Oslo will be enchanting the guests of the hotel’s Le Relais restaurant with delicacies they have created.
The now legendary “Kitchen Party” will once again form one of the more unconventional highlights of the festival. On 12. March 2003 from 10.30 p.m. well into the small hours, chefs from all over the world will be allowing guests to watch them at work and later to enjoy the delica-cies together with a glass of wine and good music. The absolute highlight will be on 15. March 2003 when the visiting chefs will conjure up a world class menu for the guests of the hotel’s Le Restaurant.


Badrutt`s Palace has put together the “Gourmet & Ski Pleasure” package specially for the festival. It includes seven nights’ accommodation, a six-day ski pass, three gourmet dinners, a lunch in the elegant La Marmite restaurant at the upper station of the Corviglia fu-nicular, a slice of the famous Engadine cake, a bottle of champagne and a daily newspaper of your choice all for 4,278 Euro for two people sharing a double room.

Special rates also apply both immediately before and after the festival: from 9.-11. March 2003 and from 16. March-6. April 2003 a superior double room and breakfast can be booked for 238 Euro.
This year the “Snow & Symphony” concerts will be held from 28. March-6. April 2003 in various locations in the Engadin. Three of the concerts will take place in Badrutt’s Palace, including the opening gala concert on 28. March 2003 with the world famous mezzo soprano Vesselina Kasarova accompanied by the Aix-la-Chapelle symphony orchestra di-rected by Marcus R. Bosch. Further events to be held in the hotel include the children’s con-cert with the music clown Olli Hauenstein on 2. April 2003 as well as the gala concert on 5. April 2003 with Aziza Mustafa Zadeh and the Zurich chamber orchestra directed by Howard Griffiths.

Badrutt’s Palace is offering two further events: on 22. March 2003 five of Switzerland’s top chefs will meet at the “Swiss Grand Table” in the hotel where they will create an unforgettable dinner for the guests of the “Le Relais” restaurant. From 1.-9. March 2003 the guests of this legendary hotel, which has over the years housed many members of the nobility and aristocracy, can enjoy a “Candlelight Dinner Dance” in the “Le Relais” restaurant.
