Starwood Announces Opening in Mexico

Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc. (NYSE: HOT) and Inmobiliaria Interpres, S.A. de C.V announced today the opening of Sheraton Centro Historico Hotel & Convention Center in Mexico City.
The hotel is ideally situated in the heart of Mexico City`s Historical Center and boasts the capital`s largest meetings and events hotel facility. The Sheraton Central Historico Hotel & Convention Center is Starwood`s 20th property to open in Mexico and the company`s third hotel in Mexico City.

The Sheraton Centro Historico Hotel & Convention Center is located on Avenida Juarez 70, within the perimeter of the city`s Historical Center, with spectacular views of Alameda Central park. The Historical Center in Mexico City contains a vast artistic and cultural legacy comprising over 1,500 buildings designated as historic landmarks, including the Palace of Fine Arts, the Metropolitan Cathedral, the National Museum of Arts, the National Palace, Post Office Palace, Franz Mayer Museum, and “Templo Mayor” among others. The hotel is also conveniently situated in a commercial area, in close proximity to government and cultural offices, as well as important financial institutions and publishing companies.

The hotel offers 457 guestrooms including a 3,229-square foot Presidential Suite, Junior Suites, Master Suites and extended-stay guestrooms. Each room is fully equipped with state-of-the-art technology work areas with data port/modem, high-speed Internet connection, two phone lines and flat screen TVs with Internet capability. Business travelers will enjoy a fully-equipped Business Center including five meeting rooms with audiovisual and teleconference equipment, secretarial services, copying services, Internet and individual workstations.

The hotel`s Convention Center features 53,000 square feet and offers eight meeting rooms that can be divided into 14 smaller rooms. All meeting rooms are equipped with state-of-the-art technology and can accommodate over 6,000 people.

The Sheraton Centro Historico also offers a wide choice of restaurants and bars serving both Mexican haute cuisine and international dishes. The El Cardenal restaurant features beautiful mural paintings in homage to renowned Mexican artist, Diego Rivera. SeDeVino, the modern-concept wine bar, offers a selection of over 400 wines. Recreational facilities include a Sport City Gym franchise boasting innovative workout equipment, a swimming pool, Jacuzzi and an 82-foot long swimming lane.
