Vistana, Inc. Names David Broderick Senior Vice President Of Sales And Marketing

Vistana, Inc., the vacation ownership division of Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc. (NYSE:HOT) announced today that industry veteran David Broderick will join the company as Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing in August, 2000. Prior to joining Vistana, Mr. Broderick was with Marriott Vacation Club International.

In his new position, Mr. Broderick will have leadership responsibility for all sales and marketing initiatives in the western region. This includes positioning the company for growth in key western markets and the strategic development of branded sales and marketing concepts. He will be supported by the western region`s existing sales and marketing team led by vice presidents Gary Dufresne and Jim Danz.


“Mr. Broderick`s experience as a leader of one of the most successful vacation ownership companies in the world will be a tremendous asset as we expand in new and existing markets. His brand experience and sales and marketing knowledge will accelerate our introduction of Sheraton and Westin-branded vacation ownership resorts,” said Jeffrey A. Adler, president and co-chief executive officer of Vistana, Inc.


Don Dubin, Ron Sharp and David Bruce will assist in the transition and retire during the fourth quarter of this year. The company they co-founded, acquired by Vistana in 1997, has led Vistana`s successful expansion into the Western U.S.
