Jurys Doyle Hotel Group Expands In London

Jurys Doyle Hotel Group will open the doors of its fourth London property, Jurys Great Russell Street, in September this year.  Situated in a prime location on Great Russell Street, just minutes from Oxford Street and Covent Garden, the elegant four-star hotel will combine luxury and period charm with the efficiency and range of services synonymous with the Jurys Doyle Hotel Group.

Designed in the early 1930’s by one of Britain’s foremost 20th Century architects, Sir Edwin Lutyens, the beautifully refurbished building has retained its original understated elegance and old world atmosphere through the use of period furniture and a return to the original paint scheme.

The building was designed and built in 1932 as a central club and hostel for the Young Women’s Christian Association. A grade II listed building, it was conceived to be both practical and luxurious. The property is the fourth to be added to The Jurys Doyle Group’s portfolio in London which include Jurys Kensington Hotel, Jurys Clifton Ford off Oxford Street and Jurys London Inn in Islington.

“We are very pleased to enhance our presence in London with such a magnificent building.  We have paid particular attention to Lutyens original design and detail and ensuring that the refurbishment is very much in line with the spirit of the building,” commented Niall Geoghegan, Director of Sales and Marketing, Jurys Doyle Hotel Group.

All of the 170 spacious bedrooms will have air-conditioning and modem lines.  The Chapel, The Library and Queen Mary Hall have been restored to form the main conference and banqueting suites which can cater for smaller gatherings to larger conferences and events

Each meeting room will be equipped to the highest standard while still reflective of the unique style of the architect Lutyens. The hotel will also have a bar, a restaurant, a lounge and a business centre.

The location is within five minutes walk of Covent Garden, the British Museum and the major shopping area of Oxford Street and Soho.  Tottenham Court Road Tube Station is also close by.  London`s Theatre land is within a short distance of the hotel and London City is within easy access.

“Jurys Great Russell Street with its excellent location is the most recent of a series of strategic purchases and underlines the Group’s commitment to growth through acquisition in the UK market”, commented Niall Geoghegan. “The Jurys Doyle Group will combine local talent with our own proven management expertise to develop, market, and manage the property”, he continued.
