Cendant Appoints William H. Hunscher As Executive Vice President, Strategic Development

Cendant Corporation (NYSE: CD) today announced it has named William H. Hunscher, 38, to the newly created position of executive vice president, Strategic Development. Hunscher will have responsibility for Cendant`s strategic acquisition program. He will report to Cendant`s Chief Strategic Officer, Samuel L. Katz.

“With the abundance of strategic growth opportunities before us, we are fortunate to have a known quantity like Bill Hunscher driving the transactions,” Katz said. “His experiences and skill set fit perfectly with Cendant`s successful track record in acquiring assets at attractive valuations and driving synergies to create incremental shareholder value.”


For the past four years, Hunscher served as the head of Strategic Development with Arnold Palmer Golf Management Company in San Francisco. Under Bill`s leadership, the company grew from a single golf course to one of the leading branded owners and operators of golf courses and instruction facilities in the world with nearly 50 locations. While at Palmer Golf, Hunscher was also responsible for the integration of all acquisitions, which included extensive capital improvements, re-branding and the implementation of the Palmer Golf`s operating systems.


His previous positions include a successful investment-banking career with Lehman Brothers and The Blackstone Group, where he worked with several members of the Cendant executive team including Mr. Katz and Cendant`s Chairman, President and CEO, Henry R. Silverman.


Hunscher holds a B.A. from Wesleyan University in Middletown, CT.
