Building on Protea Hotel Stellenpark, the R47million Stellenbosch development project is underway and developers have confirmed a partial opening on the 15th December 2002.  “Building started on 1st June, so we are certain that weå‘ll be opening the hotel in December this year with at least 50% of the units complete,” said Bernard Cassar, Cape Regional Director for Protea Hotels.
Located between two golf estates, on 30 000m? of prime land within Technopark, this hotel, once completed, will consist of 82 luxury self-catering units, totalling 160-bedrooms that will be designed in a Cape Colonial Winelands style. It will include a state-of-the-art conference center, as well as an exclusive restaurant and bar.
Pioneered by Stellenpark Development, a consortium of individuals, this hotel is being marketed and funded under sectional title.  Both local and national business individuals who are looking to invest in property and tourism, as well as for personal leisure usage, have already bought the majority of the units. Despite it being a sectional title development, it will be managed and administered like a traditional hotel.
