A 154-unit Quality Inn hotel, located at the Highway 17 South By-Pass here, will hold its grand opening on Thursday, May 23 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Elizabeth City Mayor John Bell and members of the Chamber of Commerce are expected to attend.

The Quality Inn, formerly operated as a Holiday Inn, recently underwent a $2.2 million renovation, which consisted of remodeling guest rooms with new walls, carpeting, bedding, bathrooms, furniture and Quality Sleeper mattresses by Serta. The hotel`s on-premise restaurant, Hogan`s Bar & Grille, and a lounge were also remodeled.

Hogan`s Bar & Grille is open for breakfast and dinner and provides dinner room service to guests. The lounge has a disk jockey on Friday evenings.
