NH Hoteles just signed an agreement for a new hotel in Santiago de Compostela. This 159 room establishment, just 300 metres from Obradoiro Square, will be under lease contract and represents an investment of EUR 11 Mn. As a 5-star hotel, it will be part of NH`s select Gold Collection category, hotels with special charm usually located in landmark buildings.

The guestrooms will be equipped with direct-dial telephone, a separate telephone line for modem, colour TV, satellite channels, hairdryer, videogames, pay-per-view movies and air conditioning. Among other amenities, the rooms will offer a choice of pillows and a complementary toiletry kit. The hotel has several meeting rooms, a leisure and sports area, gardens, in-house parking facilities, a bar and restaurant. Currently under construction, the hotel is scheduled to open in 2005. This is the first of the chain`s hotels in Santiago de Compostela, although it operates a hotel in the Galician city of Vigo, the NH Palacio de Vigo.
NH Hoteles has also signed an agreement for a new 3-star hotel in Cordoba, the NH Califa. This 65-room hotel is in the heart of the city`s historic district and a short distance from the main shopping streets. Although the hotel is already opened, it will not start to operate under the NH brand until 1 June of this year.
The NH Califa will be under lease management and represents an investment of EUR 1.5 Mn that will be spent on small refurbishments to adapt the hotel to NH standards and style.
Among the excellent services and amenities typical of a modern establishment, the hotel will offer a restaurant and parking facilities. It also provides meeting rooms accommodating up to 150 persons. To satisfy the needs of business travellers, the guestrooms have direct-dial telephone, TV, satellite channels, separate telephone line for MODEM connection, videogames, pay-per-view movies, a choice of pillows, hairdryer, room service, a complementary toiletry kit and air conditioning.

With this new addition, NH now has two hotels in Cordoba offering a total of 149 rooms. The other NH hotel in this city is the NH Amistad Cordoba, an 84-room Gold Collection Hotel in the midtown area.
