Maher Promoted to VP for Governmental Affairs

Kevin Maher has been appointed vice president for governmental affairs for the American Hotel & Lodging Association (AH&LA). Since joining AH&LA in 1992, Maher most recently served as director for the department.

In his new position, Maher is responsible for monitoring regulatory affairs initiatives that affect members of the association as well as the entire lodging industry. He also works directly with federal agencies and Members of Congress to promote travel and tourism.

“We congratulate Kevin on his promotion. For the past decade, he has helped AH&LA reach many of its legislative goals,” said AH&LA Executive Vice President for Public Policy Jack Connors. “This advancement also illustrates the association’s continued commitment to providing strong government affairs representation to the hotel community.”

Prior to joining AH&LA, Maher worked at the Travel Industry Association of America and for Rep. Bob Carr (D-Mich.). He holds a degree in political science and journalism from Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wis.
