ATLANTA (April 2002) - Fifty years after its creation in 1952, America’s Hotel celebrates the heritage that revolutionized American road travel by inviting guests to hit the road this travel season for fun, adventure and affordability.
Holiday Inn, the most widely recognized lodging brand in the world, launches the “Great American Road Trip” this summer to commemorate the brand that changed road travel and set a standard for the hotel industry. When guests stay at a Holiday Inn hotel from May 1-September 8, 2002, they will receive a $10 Free Gas Refund voucher and the chance to enter the “Chevy a Week” Summer Sweepstakes where one of 20 special Warner Brothers Edition Chevy Venture mini-vans, each equipped with an integrated stereo DVD entertainment system, will be given away this summer. Also included in the promotion are games for kids—available for printing at www.holiday-inn.com and the popular Kids Eat and Stay Free offering.
“Over the past fifty years, Holiday Inn hotels have become home to leisure, family and business travelers looking for full-service, value-added features and amenities that provide comfort on the road,” said Greg Price, vice president of marketing for the Holiday Inn brand. “We are celebrating the 50th Anniversary of Holiday Inn by offering the ‘Great American Road Trip’ program to help make our guests’ vacations more enjoyable and affordable this summer.”
To participate, travelers should visit www.holiday-inn.com/roadtrip or check major print publications such as Parade, USA Weekend, Ebony and Modern Maturity to obtain the “Great American Road Trip” $10 Free Gas Refund certificate. When guests present the $10 Free Gas Refund certificate at check-in, they will receive one voucher for a $10 gas refund, while supplies last.
