Northwest Airlines announced today that Northwest E-Ticket customers can now use Northwest’s award-winning web site to obtain refunds online at www.nwa.com. Northwest partnered with via World Network to become the first airline to offer its customers this convenient service option.

“With this new electronic capability, E-Ticket customers can receive confirmation on the amount to be refunded within minutes,” said Al Lenza, vice president - distribution planning. “This is the latest in a series of web site enhancements designed to facilitate the travel experience of our customers.”

Obtaining a refund online is easy. Customers simply enter their E-Ticket number. Northwest will automatically calculate the refund on the unused portion of the E-Ticket and credit the charge card used to purchase it.

In addition to requesting refunds on Northwest-issued E-Tickets, customers can check on other refund-related matters including:

The status of a previously requested refund.
Refund procedures for a Northwest paper ticket.
Procedures to follow when you lose a paper ticket.
Refund procedures for Northwest alliance partner tickets, including KLM and Continental Airlines.
