Gulf Air Introduces Luxury Coach Service

Gulf Air has taken its business philosophy of being ‘customer driven’ to a new level with the introduction this week, of a free, luxury coach service, which will operate between Dubai and Abu Dhabi International Airport.

“The comfort and hospitality of a Gulf Air flight out of Abu Dhabi can now begin in Dubai,” explained A K Nizar, Gulf Air’s Area Manager - Dubai & Northern Emirates. “The introduction of this luxury coach service makes the capital’s airport even more accessible and the ideal gateway to and from the UAE.”

The 52-seater vehicle will depart twice daily from the Gulf Air ticket office in Deira at 08.30 and 20.30 for the 90-minute journey and returns at 12.15 and 00.15.

“The morning departure provides convenient connections with our numerous non-stop services to London, the Indian sub Continent and Middle East,” adds Nizar, ” while the evening service connects with non-stop services to the Indian Sub Continent, Far East and Europe.”

The road trip is in itself a ‘flight’ with free snacks and video entertainment.

“Another major plus is that once on the coach, passengers are effectively ‘on board’ their flight, which facilitates a reduced check in time on arrival at Abu Dhabi,” says Nizar.

“The majority of international airlines using other UAE airports often require up to 2 hours check in time. Using the free coach service means we can reduce the check in period to just 45 minutes, - which is still enough time to enjoy the facilities at the airport such the World Class duty free shopping,” he adds.

Nizar adds that this service, which is in addition two extra flights between Dubai and Abu Dhabi, will almost certainly be expanded to include stops en-route to Abu Dhabi and possibly a service from Al Ain.

“This is part of our on-going programme of enhancing our complete range of products, while helping to position Abu Dhabi as a key hub and gateway to the UAE. With its excellent facilities we are already seeing an increase in traffic out of the airport from Dubai and Al Ain. We are confident this new additional service will see the numbers grow in the near future.”

Gulf Air offers more non-stop flights out of Abu Dhabi International Airport to London and Europe than any other airline.

Gulf Air was founded in 1950. Today, it is owned by the Kingdom of Bahrain, Oman and the UAE, and is the only truly pan Gulf airline in the region. The airline’s network stretches from Europe to Asia and covers 43 cities in 32 countries. The fleet is one of the most modern in the Middle East and comprises 33 aircraft.
