Mobility and Continental In-Flight Mobile

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz., Feb. 18 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/—Mobility Electronics, Inc. (Nasdaq: MOBE), a leading provider of innovative portable computing solutions for the mobile computer user, and Continental Airlines (NYSE: CAL), today announced an exclusive agreement for mobile computing solutions that will provide Continental Airlines` business travelers access to Mobility Electronics` in-flight power products on its widebody aircraft.
Through this exclusive relationship that extends through 2004, Continental Airlines will promote and sell Mobility Electronics` iGo Juice auto/in-flight power adapter on its duty-free flights, as well as through Continental`s Web site ( continental.com ) and the co-branded Web site ( www.igocontinental.com ) developed by iGo to support the alliance.
“Our relationship with a respected airline like Continental helps further our mission to provide travelers worldwide with a source for the mobile computing products they need,” said Charlie Mollo, CEO of Mobility Electronics. “This exclusive relationship is a great fit for Mobility Electronics.”
While on board, customers may purchase Juice for use with in-seat power sources to power notebook computers on duty free flights. Additionally, flight attendants will have flyers available during the flights to promote Mobility Electronics and Juice. Advertisements in Continental`s in-flight entertainment publications and the OnePass Frequent Flyer program will also promote Mobility Electronics` travel and mobile computing solutions.
To further support the relationship, Continental`s homepage directs customers and online visitors to take advantage of a co-branded Web site featuring Juice.
“Our relationship with Mobility Electronics helps to expand our services for business travelers,” said Kent D. Craver, manager, onboard product marketing and research at Continental Airlines. “This provides another way for our customers to maintain their productivity while flying on our aircraft.”
About Juice: By combining the functionality of several power devices and compatibility with both AC and DC power sources, Juice eliminates the need to carry a separate notebook AC adapter, mobile phone adapter and/or handheld/PDA power adapters (with optional accessory). Business travelers and other mobile users can now replace bulky power-packs and numerous adapters with a single power source, eliminating extra weight and jumbled power cords. Juice is compatible with more than 600 of today`s most popular notebook computers, including brands such as Apple, Compaq, Dell, Fujitsu/Siemens, Hewlett Packard, Toshiba, IBM, Sony and Gateway.
About Continental Airlines: Continental Airlines is the world`s seventh-largest airline and has more than 2,000 daily departures. With 131 domestic and 93 international destinations, Continental has the broadest global route network of any U.S. airline, including extensive service throughout the Americas, Europe and Asia. Continental has hubs serving New York, Houston, Cleveland and Guam, and carries approximately 41 million passengers per year on the newest jet fleet among major U.S. airlines. With 48,000 employees, Continental is one of the “100 Best Companies to Work For in America.” Fortune ranked Continental the No. 2 Most Admired Global Airline and No. 30 Most Admired Global Company in March 2002.
