US Airways To Launch Charlotte - Belize

US Airways will begin four weekly nonstop flights tomorrow between its Charlotte, N.C., hub and Belize City, Belize.

The new flights will operate between Charlotte and Belize each Saturday, Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday, using Airbus A319 aircraft. The flights will depart Charlotte at 10:30 a.m., and will arrive in Belize at 1:07 p.m. Return flights will depart Belize at 2:20 p.m., and will arrive in Charlotte at 6:34 p.m.


The new route, Charlotte’s 12th to the Caribbean, increases US Airways’ overall Caribbean network to 18 jet destinations. Additional Caribbean points are served by the US Airways Express carriers.


“This new route further expands our service into the Western Caribbean,” said Douglas Leo, US Airways vice president of international. “We are pleased to offer greater choice and flexibility for travelers originating and connecting through our Charlotte hub.”

As an introductory offer to celebrate the start of the new Charlotte-Belize service, US Airways has great fare sales to the Caribbean for the coming travel season. US Airways Express also serves North Eleuthera, Governors Harbour, Marsh Harbour and Treasure Cay from select cities in Florida. Subject to foreign government approval, US Airways will begin nonstop roundtrip service between Philadelphia and Grand Bahama Island in February 2003.
