Delta Connection will offer customers the convenience of expanded service capacity with new and larger jets between Delta’s (NYSE:DAL) Cincinnati hub and four cities in January 2003. Beginning Jan. 13, Delta Connection carrier Comair will use the 70-seat CRJ700 jet to operate one daily, round-trip flight between Cincinnati and Louisville, Ky. Effective Jan. 20, Comair will operate the CRJ700 on one daily, round-trip flight between Cincinnati and Raleigh-Durham, N.C., and add an additional CRJ700 between Cincinnati and Bangor, Maine. Beginning Jan. 21, CRJ700 service will be added between Cincinnati and Huntsville, Ala.

Flights using the 70-seat jet replace existing service with smaller jets, providing customers with more seats in each market. Delta (NYSE: DAL) and Delta Connection offer a total of four round-trip flights between Cincinnati and Huntsville; 10 to Louisville; seven to Raleigh-Durham and three to Bangor.

Passengers familiar with the 40- and 50-seat CRJs will notice increased comfort in the CRJ700 cabin. The floor has been lowered to increase head and shoulder room; the windows have been raised almost five inches for easier outside viewing; and the overhead bins have been redesigned to provide a wider, more spacious aisle. Additionally, all Delta Connection CRJ700s feature all-leather interiors and a comfortable two-by-two seating arrangement with no middle seats.

Delta Connection carriers include Delta’s wholly owned subsidiaries Atlantic Southeast Airlines and Comair, additional regional carriers Atlantic Coast Airlines, Chautauqua Airlines and SkyWest Airlines, and codeshare partner American Eagle (in California).
