British Airways franchise partner, GB Airways, is to launch a daily scheduled service between London and Girona in Spain`s Costa Brava from March 1, 2003.

Year-round return fares will start from £99, including all taxes, fees and charges.

GB Airways unveiled plans for the new service in August. Due to demand from the trade and public, the airline will increase the planned operation of 3 services a week to a daily service.

John Patterson, GB Airways’ Managing Director, said: “Girona is a popular destination with the British market and is not currently served by a year-round full-frills, scheduled airline.

“Our passengers can also take advantage of the full-frills British Airways service, which includes a complimentary bar and food service, a choice of two cabin classes and a minimum seat pitch of 31 inches.”

The daily service will depart from London Gatwick at 0730, arriving in Girona at 1025. It will return from Girona at 1110, arriving back into Gatwick at 1215 local time.
