Frontier Airlines Names Jeff S. Potter As Chief Operating Officer

Frontier Airlines (Nasdaq: FRNT ) today named industry veteran Jeff S. Potter to the position of chief operating officer and executive vice president. In this newly created position, Potter, 41, will oversee the airline`s day-to-day operations and will report directly to Frontier President Sam Addoms.

“We are delighted that Jeff is joining Frontier,” said Addoms. “Jeff was a valuable contributor during his previous tenure with Frontier, and a large part of Frontier`s success and culture can be directly attributed to Jeff`s efforts. As we begin our Airbus transition and continue our growth strategy, Jeff`s vast knowledge and expertise will provide proven and sound leadership to our company and its people.”

“I am thrilled to return to Frontier, and believe that my new position will provide unique challenges,” said Potter. “Joining Frontier as the airline prepares to take delivery of its first Airbus aircraft is especially rewarding as I participated in the original analysis and ultimate decision to transition the fleet to the A320 family. The transition project, coupled with our quest to position Frontier as an industry leader in terms of customer service and operational excellence, will require a great deal of focus for everyone at Frontier, and I look forward to participating in those processes. In addition, the people of Frontier are its greatest asset and I look forward to reacquainting myself with many of my Frontier friends, as well as working with the new people who have joined Frontier during the last year.”

Potter most recently served as president and chief executive officer of Kansas City, Mo.-based Vanguard Airlines.

“Returning to Frontier is less about leaving Vanguard and more about where I feel I need to be at this time in my life,” said Potter. “Leaving Vanguard, even after 11 months, was as difficult as it was to leave Frontier last spring. It was a privilege to serve the people of Vanguard, and I have only the warmest regards for them.”
