Spirit Airlines Announces David Anderson As Chief Information Officer

David M. Anderson is onboard as chief information officer and senior vice president at Spirit Airlines to lead the continued high tech growth and advanced information systems for the low-fare specialist.
Anderson brings to Spirit an expansive understanding of information systems and a global perspective of the travel industry.


“David is a welcome addition to the Spirit family as we continue to expand our service and advance our information systems,” said Jacob M. Schorr, chief executive officer. “With more than 20 years of technology and travel industry experience, David plays a vital role to Spirit’s leadership in the airline industry.” Schorr continues.


Throughout his travels, Anderson has engineered schedule systems and developed airline management software. From reservations to passenger assistance, Anderson’s itinerary at Spirit will focus on the information system structure enhancements and high tech growth.


Having attended Washington University in St. Louis with a mathematics major, Anderson embarked on a career including Mellon Bank and Owens Corning. He later joined Unisys and was transferred to Hong Kong as the marketing director of the company’s Asia Airline Transportation Group.


When the Asia operations were finalized in the early 1990’s, Anderson landed back in the states and served as chief information officer of Certified Vacations in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. and vice president of technology for GoCruiseDirect.com.
