THAI’s President Announces THAI’s 3rd Quarter And Nine Month Results

Thai Airways Public Company Limited announced its third quarter results (April to June 2002) and its nine month results for Fiscal Year 2001/ 2002 (October 2001 to June 2002), whereby the net profit from operating activities during the third quarter amount to THB 3,452 million baht and THB 9,225 million baht in nine month results.


Mr. Kanok Abhiradee, THAI’s President, announced that THAI’s operating result for the third quarter of Fiscal Year 2001/ 2002 (April to June 2002) amount to a total revenue of THB 31,244 million baht and an operating profit of THB 4,116 million baht.  Compared to the same period last year, the net operating result increased THB 2,330 baht or 130.44 percent.  When other incomes and expenses were included, THAI holds a net profit of THB 3,452 which is higher than the same period last year by THB 2,711 million baht or 365.92 percent and earnings per share at THB 2.47 baht, compared to THB 0.53 baht per share in the same period last year.


As for the nine month result for Fiscal Year 2001/ 2002 (October 2001 to June 2002), THAI announced a total operating revenue of THB 94,364 million baht, with an operating profit of THB 11,649 million baht, an increase of THB 2,811 million baht or 31.81 percent.  When other incomes and expenses were included, THAI achieved THB 9,225 million baht in net profit, an increase of THB 9,420 million baht compared to the same period last year.  Therefore, the net profit per share was THB 6.59 baht compared to a net loss per share of THB 0.14 baht for the same period last year, an increase of THB 6.73 baht per share.
