Air New Zealand Voted Among the Top Five

Air New Zealand was voted fifth in the Best Leisure Airline - Long Haul by readers of UK Conde Nast Traveller magazine at an awards ceremony in London last week.
Air New Zealand was placed behind Singpaore Airlines, Cathay Pacific, Thai and Emirates and ahead of much larger international airlines such as Qantas.

Gerard Gilmore, Air New Zealand`s Regional General Manager for Europe said the nomination was a great accolade for the airline.
“For a small airline with only one flight a day from the UK operating in a highly competitive marketplace it`s a great tribute from a very discerning group of travellers to all on our team around our network,” he said.
Over 35,000 readers voted in what are considered to be amongst the most prestigious of readers awards in the UK. The 24 categories included best country, city, island, hotels, tour opertors, hotel spas, airports and airlines worldwide.
New Zealand was rated 7th in the best country list and 35th overall while Huka Lodge in Taupo was a star winner taking best leisure hotel in Australasia and the South Pacific and coming fourth in the Top 100.
