Travelodge Launches New Website to Improve User Experience

Travelodge, a hotel group for business and leisure, has announced the launch of its new website -www.travelodge.co.uk. Designed by Sense Internet, the new design streamlines the online booking process and greatly improves user experience.

The convenience of online booking is key to Travelodge`s business customers, and with over 5,000 current bookings every week, Sense Internet`s main objective was to make the experience as quick and simple
as possible.  Forms can be tedious to complete when time is limited, thus Sense Internet introduced member recognition functionality.  This means that individuals only need to complete their details online once, and will be recognised instantly when returning to order brochures or book rooms, vastly improving online user experience and encouraging
repeat visits.

Peter Halsey, Travelodge marketing and sales director comments: “We needed a design agency that could be both creative with design and creative with technology.  Sense Internet offered both, and understood our need to make the site pay for itself.
The new design ensures businesses and consumers have quick access to what they are looking for - room availability and online booking - whilst their technical understanding has enabled a smooth integration
process with our existing third party suppliers.”

Travelodge has also teamed up with AA Route Planner to provide clear directions to all hotels.  Maps can easily be printed from the web, or
emailed over as pdf`s to friends or colleagues.

As well as enhancing customer experience, Sense Internet has taken away all frames, improving the ease of maintaining, as well as expandability, of the site.  Not only will it be easy to update, but Travelodge will gain key statistics and log figures providing valuable graphs on the
access details.

“Travelodge already boasts impressive statistics for the website, but our objective was to increase revenue further.  With the usability
changes we have made, we aim to achieve this through an increase in conversion and retention rates over the coming months,” comments, Aidan Cook, managing director, Sense Internet.

In addition to the Travelodge website, Sense Internet was also asked to redesign the Travelodge Workspace - a service providing 40 meeting rooms across the country.  The redesign of the site follows the reasoning behind the main site, introducing clear maps and directions, easy navigation and a no frames structure, making the site simple to update.
