After a carefully planned and inclusive pitch process, SAA have appointed HerdBuoys McCann-Erickson as their advertising partners. A two year contract has been awarded.
Victor Nosi, Executive Vice President of Marketing and Communications at SAA commented as follows, ” While each of the four short listed agencies made excellent presentations, HerdBuoys McCann-Erickson was the clear winner. The decision was unanimous and the Board has ratified both our choice of agency partner and our methods and process for arriving at this decision.”
He went on to add that the members of the selection panel were extremely impressed with the level of professionalism shown by each of the competing agencies. “We are very aware of the pressure that advertising agencies are under during the pitch process even though it is very much a part of their business, ” he continued.
The other three agencies involved were Saatchi & Saatchi, The Agency and FCB.
All four agencies commented favourably on the pitch process and details will be published as a guideline for other advertisers and advertising agencies in the future. Both the Association of Advertising Agencies (AAA) and the Association of Marketers (ASOM) sanctioned the SAA pitch process along with industry observers, Chris Moerdyk and Johanna McDowell.
Concluded Nosi, “We are very pleased to have successfully completed the process and we are very excited to be working with the new team at HerdBuoys McCann-Erickson. What is critically important now is for SAA to be in full flight with a fully integrated advertising and marketing campaign as fast as possible.”
