Alitalia, in respect of the negative decision taken today by the European Commission on the transfer of most airline activities from Linate to the newly constructed Malpensa airport by October 25, informs as follows:

Alitalia continues to work closely and in full alignment with the Italian Government, whilst considering the European Commission`s position on the issue.

Alitalia and KLM are fully committed to the development of their partnership. They continue to work on an European multi-hub system, a key feature in an overall plan to become more competitive by serving customers better. A more detailed progress report will be made available by the end of this month.
