Aer Lingus Announces New Group Human Resources Director

Aer Lingus Group Chief Executive, Michael Foley, today announced the appointment of Pat Casey as Group Human Resources Director with Aer Lingus. Pat Casey is currently Vice President, Human Resources, European Operations with Dell Computer Corporation, based in Limerick. He will take up his appointment with Aer Lingus in the middle of May.


Announcing the appointment, Michael Foley said “I am delighted to be able to appoint a person of Pat Casey`s calibre and experience as Group Human Resources Director with Aer Lingus. I am very confident that Pat Casey will play a key role in the development of our human resources infrastructure to ensure both the future commercial success of the airline and the creation of a world class work environment.”


Pat Casey, in accepting the appointment, commented, “This is a hugely important and challenging role. Aer Lingus has a deserved reputation for the quality of its service based largely on the strength and commitment of its people”.


“Clearly this is a time of major change and opportunity for Aer Lingus and its employees and I am very much looking forward to both leading the Human Resources function and being part of the management team that continues to build an organisation that will be the envy of the airline industry globally”, he said.
Pat Casey is a native of Athy, Co. Kildare and has wide experience in Human Resources management. Prior to joining Dell in his current role in 1998, he spent almost nine years with Intel Corporation. He was the start up HR Manager for Intel in Leixlip and spent several years as World Wide Human Resources Manager for Intel`s Component Manufacturing business, based in the US. In a wide-ranging career he has also held Human Resources positions in Apple Computer Limited, Bausch and Lomb and Henry Ford and Son.


Pat Casey is a member of the Governing Board of University of Limerick and a board member of Junior Achievement Ireland. He is married with one son.
