Lufthansa Launches New Online Internet Presence

Just in time for the General Meeting on June 15, 2000 in Berlin the Lufthansa Group will debut its newly designed Internet portal. The Lufthansa portal merges the entire online product spectrum of Lufthansa and its affiliates.
Also new is the clear distinction between the independent Lufthansa group portal and Passage Airline`s distribution portal InfoFlyway. Both can be accessed via the central Internet address www.lufthansa.com.
This new Internet presence will boost InfoFlyway`s position as an established electronic distribution channel. The Lufthansa group portal will offer a broad presentation platform for information, services, and product offerings of the entire Lufthansa family: News about the business sectors, subsidiaries, and stock developments as well as career possibilities and job offers within the Lufthansa group will be presented in detail. This new Internet presence will further improve the integration of our affiliates on the Internet and enable us to offer even more cross-functional search options. It is planned to expand the Internet pages throughout the year 2000 to create a communications tool with personalized functions for the various target groups- journalists, analysts, job applicants or employees.

Lufthansa has improved customer service in the areas of Reservations, Specials and Miles & More on the Lufthansa InfoFlyway pages, the online distribution channel for Passage Airline. The new design and navigation functions make your search even more user-friendly. The segment Special Deals offers customers auctions and the feature “Surprise & Fly.” Click on “Shop!” and you can surf our extensive list of selected partners and their travel-related products.

Our Special Interest Sites offer direct access to “studentmiles.com” and to “InfoGate,” the virtual branch of our InfoFlyway. Both sites enable us to reach out to new customer segments and are presently updated to make them even more attractive and user-friendly.

On the occasion of the new launching in June, visitors to our site will find three special features:

* A special auction on June 15, 2000, during which Miles & More customers can trade their miles for 20 business and 20 economy class Lufthansa tickets to international destinations as well as 10 tickets for 2 people each to Auckland, Sydney, and Los Angeles - courtesy of our Star Alliance Partner Air New Zealand. The minimum bid is 500 miles. Each flight also comes with a new Marco Polo Travel Guide.

* All Lufthansa flights originating in Germany that are booked on the InfoFlyway with travel completed between June 15 and July 15, 2000 will earn double miles for the Lufthansa Miles & More frequent-flyer program.

* An online game featuring 12 questions about the new group and distribution pres-ence offers attractive prices with a value of up to 50,000 DM.

The operation and concept of both InfoFlyway and the Lufthansa group portal was developed and implemented by Lufthansa E-Commerce GmbH (LHE), Lufthansa`s affiliate responsible for establishing and operating electronic distribution channels in the travel and tourism industry. This company`s main area of business is - among others - the operation and expansion of the direct distribution channel Lufthansa InfoFlyway and the Corporate Flyway for corporate customers. During the ITB 2000 show, LHE also sup-ported the company C&N Touristic AG in designing and launching its new sites www.cn-touristic.de and www.condor.de.
