IATA/UFTAA Training Course

Gulf Air, with over 50 years of experience in the aviation industry, prides itself in maintaining its standards through high quality training of its employees. The Gulf Air Training Centre, under the airline’s Corporate Training and Development department, has provided commercial, management and engineering training for the airline for over 20 years.

A team of professional instructors provide training, not only to Gulf Air staff all over the world, but also to General Handling Agents and General Sales agents of the airline. These front line staff are provided with various training courses covering a wide range of airline operations, such as Reservations and ticketing, Customer handling, Cargo handling, Ramp service, Load Control and various others.

Capt. Ashok Poduval, who heads the Corporate Training and Development department, says that the vision is to develop the Training Centre as a profit centre, providing various airline, travel and tourism courses, to individuals and institutions in the region. He has a team of competent and dedicated instructors, led by Mr. Khalid AlBastaki, Assistant Manager Commercial Training, who have, amongst them, a wealth of expertise, experience and knowledge.

The Gulf Air Training centre is an authorised IATA/UFTAA training centre. They have just launched training the IATA/UFTAA Diploma in Travel and Tourism Foundation. Highly experienced IATA authorised instructors will provide quality training to students and prepare them for the final examination. Although the Foundation Level course is initially on offer, the Advanced Diploma will also be made available depending on the demand. These examinations are held twice a year, in March and September, and Bahrain is a centre for the examinations.
