Delta Air Logistics Expands Equation Express Package Service

ATLANTA, July 1, 2002—Delta Air Logistics, the cargo division of Delta Air Lines, today announced it will make its Equation product, an airport-to-airport express service for packages that do not exceed 150 lbs. (70 kilograms), available to its U.S. domestic network for all SkyTeam Cargo partners through the JFK International Airport gateway.

“This milestone we’ve reached in making the Equation express package service available through the Delta domestic network for every SkyTeam Cargo alliance partner is significant,” said Tony Charaf, senior vice president - Delta Air Logistics. “It is part of SkyTeam Cargo’s larger strategy to make our common product offering available worldwide through our extensive alliance network later this year.”

Delta Air Logistics introduced Equation in all of Delta’s North American markets in May 2001. With the expansion of Equation, SkyTeam Cargo partners AeroMexico Cargo, Air France Cargo, Alitalia Cargo, CSA Cargo and Korean Air Cargo will benefit from the additional markets served by Delta’s U.S. domestic market.

Equation offers departure on the first available flight, and shipments will be accepted 90 - 120 minutes before departure and delivered 90 - 120 minutes after arrival. Although the maximum weight of each package is 150 lbs. (70 kilograms), there is no limit on shipment size for non-perishable goods.
