Caribbean Star Airlines’ Director of Marketing, Sandra Scotland, recently announced that the airline will be a Gold Sponsor of the Grenada Carnival in 2002 and the Official Carrier of this event.
Grenada Carnival takes place from August 11th to August 15th and Carnival activities will range from the popular Soca Monarch Competition, to the Carnival Queen Show, Street Parades on Monday and Tuesday, Panorama, Night Mas’ and other colourful shows and parties around the island.
This festival has been growing in size over the years as ardent Carnival fans and masqueraders in search of something new have been moving around the region to sample what the islands have to offer. Festivities in Grenada are based around the beautiful Carenage in St. Georges and visitors to the island can not only take part in this event, but they can retire to the breathtaking Grand Anse beach to recover when it is over.
Scotland says that the Star is the official carrier of the Antigua Carnival later this year and is involved with Carnival in St. Vincent. She also hopes to successfully conclude negotiations with the Barbados Carnival Committee soon and formally commit the airline`s support to the Crop Over festival. The airline has been involved with carnivals, sports, music festivals and other events in the 14 destinations to which it flies, and the Grenada carnival is just another way of showing that the airline is not just interested in moving passengers from these islands, but it is truly dedicated to the development of the islands.
Caribbean Star Airlines recently launched its Star Vacations at a series of cocktail receptions in the islands.
