Thistle Hotels, one of the UK`s leading hotels companies, has appointed John Roberts as director of travel trade.

The major objectives will include building stronger partnerships with existing contract holders and sourcing and securing new operators, with a particular emphasis on the domestic, European and Long Haul markets.

Commenting on the appointment, William Burton, director of sales and marketing for Thistle Hotels: “We are delighted to have John with us, who brings over 20 years of travel industry experience to the company and I hope it indicates our continued commitment to this important market segment”.

Roberts joins from Galileo International, where he held the role of director of sales marketing for Europe. Prior to Galileo International, Roberts also worked with The Sabre Group and was with the Hertz Corporation for 17 years.
