David Spurlock Leaves British Airways

David Spurlock, Director of Strategy, announced he has resigned from British Airways for personal reasons. David and his family will return to their native California. His resignation is with immediate effect.

Rod Eddington announced that David’s current responsibilities will be assumed by Roger Maynard, Director of Alliances, Investments and Joint Ventures, until further notice. Roger will also retain his existing responsibilities.

Commenting on David’s departure Rod Eddington said, “David has made a major contribution to the development and ongoing implementation of our strategy over the past five years. He leaves with our thanks and very best wishes for the future. The strategy he has helped us build remains firmly in place and the company is committed to its continuation. We will miss his presence inside the company.”

Mr Spurlock said, “The decision to leave British Airways has been a difficult one for me and my family. However, it is made easier by the confidence I have in the company, its strong position in the marketplace and especially by the strength of the team Rod Eddington has built to lead the company forward”.
