PHOENIX, April 16 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/—America West Holdings
Corporation (NYSE: AWA) will conduct a live audio webcast of its first quarter
2002 earnings conference call with the financial community on Friday,
April 19, 2002 at 1:00 p.m. EDT (10:00 a.m. PDT) to present the company`s
financial and operating results and then answer questions from securities
analysts.

The webcast will be available to the public on a listen-only basis at the
company`s Web site, http://www.americawest.com .  An archive of the webcast will be
available on the site through April 23, 2002.  Listeners to the webcast will
need a current version of Windows MediaPlayer software and at least a
28.8 kbps connection to the Internet.

Additionally, America West will make available on its Web site a number of
charts and graphs depicting the company`s financial performance and
operational improvements.  These visuals will be available at the
