SolarNet (Solars Computing) has appointed Mr. Rick Ridding as Director of Business Development and Technology, effective immediately.
In his new position with SolarNet, Mr. Ridding will be responsible for the continued integration of the SolarNet/TourTek technologies into solutions that address the distribution and e-commerce challenges faced today by the travel industry`s leisure and specialty vendors. In addition, Mr. Redding will be responsible for forging relationships with the industry`s major retail oriented consortia to facilitate the deployment of SolarNet/TourTek technologies in various retail applications. Mr. Ridding brings more than 18 years of software, data communication and travel industry experience to the SolarNet team. Most recently, Mr. Ridding held the position of Technology Director for the Canadian division of Sabre, the leading provider of technology, distribution and marketing services for the travel industry. In that position, he was responsible for liaising and consulting on technology issues and planning for some of Canada`s top retail consortia, including American Express, Rider/BTI and Air Miles (The Loyalty Group) in relation to GDS business solutions. “The multi-channel distribution capability of SolarNet, encompassing the Internet and every major GDS, has created a global travel distribution platform that is unparalleled in the world today,” stated Mr. Ridding.
