Passkey Appoints Alliances VP.

30th Jan 2002

Passkey has appointed Thomas M. Walker as vice president of alliances. In his new role, Walker will be responsible for enhancing existing Passkey alliances, as well as forging new ones.

Drawing on his years of consulting experience, he will also head Passkey?fs Business Consulting Services group, providing sophisticated business process analysis to identify attainable efficiencies and cost savings for clients within the hospitality/travel industry.

According to Tim Durant, Passkey?fs executive vice president of global sales and marketing, “Tom brings a great depth and variety of experience to his new position. His most recent work with Manugistics - including consulting work for hotel companies such as Hyatt, Hilton, Marriott, Starwood and Preferred Hotels and Resorts (Indecorp. Corp.) - will prove to be extremely valuable as he leads and grows the Alliances and Consulting groups for us at Passkey. Tom will play a key role in our future endeavors, including the packaging of the Passkey enterprise solutions for hotel corporations.”

“The key to effective alliances,” Walker says, “is mutual benefit. All parties must be able to realize an advantage from the relationship that would not be easily achieved otherwise. At the same time, new alliances must provide a strategic fit that does not encroach upon the reciprocal value of existing alliances.”

Walker possesses extensive credentials in the hospitality industry, having served as Director of Sales and Marketing, Manager of Central Reservation Sales, and Regional Director of Rooms for ITT Sheraton Corporation prior to the Starwood acquisition, in addition to his position as Senior Manager, Solutions Marketing for Manugistics, Inc. His past experience with managing inventory and dealing with its commensurate wide range of associated issues is the perfect background for him to make an immediate impact with Passkey?fs CityWideTM product.

Walker, commenting on his decision to join Passkey, notes, “I am excited to be joining such a technologically advanced, innovative and energetic company. To me, a company?fs success depends upon the strength of its commitment and practical ability to efficiently solve real business problems. Passkey has demonstrated that they both understand and share that philosophy.” He continues, “Passkey has universally and cost-effectively brought together all parties who work in this industry?cif you can get online, you can get Passkey-enabledSM. Their technology is setting the standard to satisfy the myriad demands facing today?fs meetings and convention planning industry. I look forward to playing an integral role in its continued success.”
