Park Hospitality Announces Strong Finish For 2001

Park Hospitality, parent company of Park Plaza and Park Inn hotels in North America and Asia Pacific, today announced 2001 year-end development resulting in a 90 percent growth rate in North America. The hotel company, part of Carlson Hospitality Worldwide, added 24 hotels in the United States and Canada during 2001.
In addition to the aggressive development in North America, the hotel company signed an important brand unification agreement with its Asian partner, Park Plaza Asia Pacific, which added an additional eight properties.

“Given the challenging business climate experienced globally in 2001,” said Jetse Pottinga, executive vice president of Park Hospitality, “we are extremely pleased with our ability to move the Park brand forward, and establish a solid foundation upon which we intend to build a brand champion of the future.”
