Dominican Republic advise of new Minister of Tourism


The Dominican Republic has indicated at this years World Travel Market (hosted at Londonå‘s Excel Centre), that its present Minister of Tourism, Rafael Subervi Bonilla, will be ousted in the coming weeks and replaced by Miguelina Ortiz de Subervi.


Rafael will take his place as a presidential candiate.
There was talk in the Dominican Republic that the communication between the hoteliers and the Tourism Board had been poor, largely on the tourism boards behalf. One ex Dom Rep hotelier Lars Geweyer said of the relationship in a recent interview with Caribbean Weekly; “The Tourism Minister of the Dominican Republic does not correspond satisfactory to the hoteliers, bearing in mind that Tourism presents approx 40 % of the total economy.”
Caribbean Weekly would like to wish Miguelina Ortiz de Subervi the best of luck at the helm of the Tourism Board.
